Harvest Little Blue Truck Birthday Party

When it comes to parties, weddings, showers etc. I have always been drawn to the little details that tie everything together. It’s those details that bring personality to an event. Something I haven’t shared much on here, is my love for party planning. Whether it’s a renovation or planning an event, there’s nothing like seeing a vision come to fruition. Although that’s rewarding, I believe THE best part of throwing a party is blessing whoever the event is for. There’s a fine line when it comes to hosting that can easily cross into self glorifying and flaunting. While planning any event, it’s so important ask the question, “is this about me or about honoring and celebrating them?” If God has given you an eye for details, decorating, hosting, follow that passion and others will be blessed along the way.

Looking back at some of the birthday parties we’ve done for our boys, I think our son’s Little Blue Truck 1st birthday party was a favorite. It seemed fitting to throw a Little Blue Truck party since the books are some of our favorites. The books are so cute, and I adore how there’s one for just about every season. We celebrated this birthday in October, so I incorporated a harvest theme. It was also very affordable because of this FREE Little Blue Truck Party downloadable party kit. The expenses came from food, favors, and balloons. Besides those costs, I used materials I had on hand!

Note: I am NOT an affiliate with any of the links shared. The links are available as a helpful resource.

Cow and pig balloons from Amazon. I can’t find the link to this exact frog balloon, but here’s a similar one on Amazon.

Unfortunately this was a couple years ago, and I didn’t have this blog at the time. Because of that, I didn’t document the process of making this Little Blue Photo Booth. I used a large box and cut it into the shape of a truck. I’m by no means an artist so I had no method to painting it….my method is called “winging it” 😉 To make it easier for guests to take photos, we leaned Little Blue up against chairs. The balloons were tied to the back of the chairs.

I ordered these adorable custom napkins from Sparkle and Sparrow’s Etsy shop.

I found the wooden truck at a thrift store for $1 and painted it to look like Little Blue. The toppers are included in the free printable packet from HMH Books. I used this recipe for a healthy baby smash cake. (It’s more like a banana bread).

Tip: Farm animal toys like these lego pieces make great toppers! Also any farm themed toys work for centerpieces as well.

The favors were these Little Blue Truck Farm Sticker Fun books from Amazon.

This menu is great for serving large crowds! The party hats were a part of the free printables from HMH Books.

Easy dessert idea…Rice Krispie “Hay Bales”. Free printable from HMH Books We also served apple pie instead of a traditional birthday cake.

Little Blue Truck Banner- Free printable here

I made this DIY highchair banner. I have an Etsy shop where I make custom banners. I sold this banner on the shop since it was still good as new 🙂 If you’d like to check out my Etsy shop and place a custom order, click here

Here’s our Fueling Station 🙂

HMH Books free game to print out! Pin the hat on Little Blue. I’m telling you…these printables are a game changer!

There’s a little glimpse into a special day for our family! Thanks for joining us as we walked down memory lane with the Little Blue Truck birthday party! If you throw a Little Blue party, I would love to see photos in the comments below.

Until next time,

Maren

Thank you SO much for so many adorable tips and ideas for my son’s first birthday, as we are also planning a Little Blue Truck theme. I have to ask, where did you get his adorable “one” sweatshirt from??

Thank you! I’m so glad this post gave you some inspiration for your son’s birthday party!! I bought alphabet iron ons from Hobby Lobby and put them on a shirt we already had 😃
